When PM Modi became Prime Minister of India he went to UN and said 21st June should be celebrated as World Yoga day. It was a universal appeal led by PM Modi on 11 December 2014. Term Yoga is a Sanskrit term which means to unite or join in details we can say that Yoga means the unification of Body with consciousness or soul. It was originated in Ancient Bharat.

Spiritual Aspects of Yoga:-

This Indian ancient science goes beyond the physical aspects, in a way that deepens the connection between the mind, the body and, most importantly, the spirit. The spiritual aspect of yoga can help yogis to develop inner integration and unity with Supreme Consciousness. It starts with the body and the asanas or body posture, body posture is very important in Yoga.

In yoga, nature and the environment are important, as evidenced by the many Sanskrit and English words in asanas (standing) derived from animals and plants, and related to their special features or qualities, such as Lotus for example. However, each word has a deeper, more subtle meaning.

Let us examine the nature of some of these methods in more detail with an example

Padmasan

In ancient Asian(Indian) cultures, the lotus flower is often a symbol of purity and of its "automatic" generation, representing God's birth, spiritual development, and creation itself. The lotus flower is on its way from its roots soaked in muddy water, moving upwards, coming out of the light and blooming in the beautiful flower we know it is. Figuratively it represents the perfection of man, who has his body or "roots" on earth (like lotus roots in the mud of the lake), but his mind is fixed on the Godhead, like the lotus. blooming over the surface of the water. When the lotus shape is complete one finds a complete separation represented by the leaves of the lotus flower. When you spray water on lotus leaves, droplets will roll off the leaves and will never stick to them. Similarly, yogi will not stick to anything in the world even though it is “wet” with groundwater. Breathing is a factor that energizes and cleanses the human body. Deep, slow breathing gives energy and cleanses our bodies. Practicing yoga helps us to adapt to our environment, allowing us to discover our true nature and positive energy.
